An environmentally friendly component
A natural material such as lime contributes to environmental protection.
Lime is a solution that guarantees maximum effectiveness at a relatively low cost in various areas:
- for the treatment of industrial fumes, in particular those produced by coal-fired power stations, waste-to-energy plants or incinerators;
- for acidic water neutralisation and phosphate removal;
- for water purification, thanks to its flocculating action in combination with other substances;
- for dewatering and conditioning sludge from chemical-physical and biological treatment plants, including dredging ports and canals;
- for the inertisation of toxic and harmful waste;
- for the reclamation of industrial sites and polluted land;
- for the treatment of water basins, in fact it restores the optimal pH for the development of life forms.
In summary, for environmental protection, the functions performed by lime and its derivatives are as follows
- neutralisation of industrial or city water through pH control;
- treatment of fumes emitted into the atmosphere.
