Road constructions

Among the many properties of lime is that of contributing to the consolidation and stabilisation of soils: it plays a decisive role in the construction of roads, railways, airport runways, landfills and canalisations.
Soil stabilisation takes place through a specific process in which lime is dosed in percentages established after in-depth analysis and mixed with it in order to trigger special chemical reactions capable of improving the mechanical performance of the treated sub-bases.
The correct chemical-physical characterisation of the soils to be treated is decisive because the action of the lime modifies the structure of the earth thanks to the ionic exchange that takes place between the lime and the clay minerals, with immediate and medium-long term effects.
